Prior to their years of experience working in education, Robin had extensive experience in the Electronics and AV sector and was a Service Manager for a major rental company. Starting the Company
Robin Evans and Martin Wibberley formed Robin and Martin Limited in 2011. Between them they had spent nearly 35 years providing ICT and AV curriculum support and advice to 120 Secondary, Primary and Special Needs schools in Coventry. In addition, they had both worked on large projects such as the City wide WAN, BSF, Internet provision for all the schools they were also central in making Coventry one of the highest users of the JANET video conferencing system.
With this wealth of experience both Robin and Martin wanted to continue providing their expertise to schools, and so Robin and Martin Limited was born on the 1st April 2011. 5 years later the company now employs a total of eleven members of staff and provides advice and over 260 hours of support per week to more than 40 Coventry Primary and Special Needs schools.
Our staff are not only chosen for their technical abilities, but also for their inter-personal skills which the company feels is paramount in a school environment. All staff members have wide ranging experience whilst maintaining their own specialism including installing and supporting SIMS servers, maintaining complex networks, managing the IT for new build or extension projects, desktop and server support, software development and training for staff pupils or parents. When you decide to use Robin and Martin you don’t just get a technician, you get the expertise and backup of the entire team.
All the staff have enhanced DBS disclosures, the company has Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Employers Liability insurances and understands the needs and aspirations of schools.
New Resources Available
In late 2015 Robin and Martin felt that the company had grown to the point where it needed the advantages that a larger operation could provide. They had previously collaborated on some projects with the Sovereign Office Solutions of companies and found that they shared a similar commitment to customer service.
So they began negotiations which finally resulted in a merger in April 2016. This brought infrastructure improvements and additional back office resources to Robin and Martin, and improved Sovereign Office Solutions footprint in the educational sphere.
Care was taken to minimise disruption to our customers, and to ensure that Robin and Martin continue to provide support to the same high level.
